商品介紹 Book introduction

The Life And Deeds Of Pema Lingpa
Sunrays That Open The Lotus Of Devotion

Background
The Great King Terton Pema Lingpa, prophesied by Guru Rinpoche, is the destined Lord Protector of Bhutan who chose to reincarnate in Bhutan, the southern land in the 15 th century.

A prominent teacher revered and venerated within Bhutan and beyond, Pema Lingpa conferred empowerments and teachings of his revealed treasures to his contemporary, the 7 th Karmapa Chhodrak Gyatsho and other numerous high and notable masters of the time. Later, Tshangyang Gyatsho, the 6 th Dalai Lama, also declared Pema Lingpa to be an indisputable supreme Terton.

In this day and age, however, not many people know of Pema Lingpa. This brief account of his life and activities has therefore been compiled for those who cannot access his detailed biography. From the vast ocean-like activities and life stories of Pema Lingpa, we present here a few that are related to miraculous displays, clairvoyance and the like, stories with which most people can spontaneously relate. Every effort has been made to avoid jargon so as to render this account, supplemented with pictures and illustrations, easy to read and understand.

After establishing countless fortunate disciples on the path of liberation through the teachings of The Great Perfection, Pema Lingpa entered
Parinirvana, a stark reminder of the impermanent nature of life. This brief account titled Sunrays that Open the Lotus of Devotion: The Life and Deeds of Pema Lingpa, is being published to mark the quincentenary anniversary of the parinirvana.
