The Pema Lingpa Lineage

Kurukullā, the Lotus Ḍākinī — The Sovereign Mother Who Magnetizes the Three Realms

The supreme mother of all tathāgatas, and the source from which all phenomena arise, is Prajñāpāramitā Samantabhadrī. There are many oral instructions and accomplishment practices related to her. Among them, the profound accomplishment practice of magnetizing activity belongs to Kurukullā, the Lotus Ḍākinī, also known as Guru Kurukullā.

Kurukullā, the Lotus Ḍākinī of the Pema Lingpa lineage, belongs to the lineage of Rongzom Paṇḍita. It was first transmitted from Rongzom Paṇḍita as the distant oral lineage. Later, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche directly beheld Rongzom Paṇḍita in a pure vision and received this teaching from him. Thus, it became an extremely close pure-vision treasure lineage of His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

In the past, His Holiness Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche received this empowerment from His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. When he stepped forward to taste the amrita, the amrita in the skull cup began to boil, and rainbow lights appeared, along with other inconceivable signs. Due to this, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche personally prophesied and entrusted him as the Dharma holder of this secret teaching. It is one of His Holiness Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche’s most secret and treasured teachings. To this day, the lineage has not passed beyond three generations. Since the blessing power is strongest within three generations, accomplishment through this practice is especially swift.

The supreme practice of Guru Kurukullā is endowed with extraordinary blessings. If one sincerely practices Kurukullā, the Lotus Ḍākinī, or Guru Kurukullā, one can receive great benefit. As stated in the tantras: “This practice gathers virtue and excellence from all directions, defeats opposing arguments and subdues the pride of others, and increases all abundance and perfection of beings and the world.”

This practice can fulfill all wishes and bring inconceivable benefits. It clears all afflictive emotions and māra obstacles. In particular, it helps bring one’s aspirations to fulfillment: those wishing for a son may have a son; those wishing for a daughter may have a daughter; those seeking wealth may gain wealth; and one’s relationships, emotional life, and career may become harmonious and complete.
