Filial Piety Month Blessing & Memorial Puja and Sangha Offering During the Summer Retreat
During the Filial Piety Month, the monastic communities of Gangteng Buddhist University and Bengthang Nunnery Buddhist Institute are observing their 41st Annual Summer Rains Retreat (Yarney).
During this sacred retreat period, the Sangha remain in residence, devoting themselves wholeheartedly to Dharma practice and diligently cultivating the path. To seize this rare and auspicious opportunity by making meal offerings and other offerings to the Sangha is an especially meaningful way to accumulate vast merit and cultivate the field of virtue.
May the merit generated through these offerings repay the profound kindness of our parents who have nurtured and cared for us. May our living parents, family members, and loved ones enjoy increased longevity, merit, auspiciousness, and well-being.
May this merit also be dedicated to our ancestors, departed parents and relatives, and all deceased beings with whom we have karmic connections. May their karmic obscurations be purified, may they be liberated from suffering, attain fortunate rebirths, and ultimately be reborn in the pure realms.
Through these virtuous deeds, may both the living and the deceased receive benefit and peace, and may all beings accumulate abundant stores of merit and wisdom.
